the other day i dashed to an antique shop and unexpectedly saw they had a very small book section. someone obviously knew that i would find these two gems to add to my Betty Crocker collection. when it rains it pours and why Betty Crocker? haven't a clue. i am just going with it! the Betty Crocker Cookbook (1971; ninth printing) looks like a possible reprint of the 1960's Betty Crocker New Picture Cookbook that was my mothers that she then gave to me. minus all the whimsical drawings and largely over saturated colour photos. this edition shown in the above photo is a bit beat up around the edges but a must have nonetheless. the Betty Crocker Cake and Frosting Mix Cookbook (1966; first printing, first edition). is a lovely little dessert book with suggestions for many tantalizing sweets to be served on occasion and after dinner.
